From application to homecoming.

01ApplyIntroduce yourself and submit an application.

We review every application and approve or decline it based on fit. All potential families must have an application on file.

02Around 6 weeksWe begin considering families based on fit.

Once puppies are thriving and their personalities begin to emerge, we start identifying potential families. A family ready to accept a match places a $250 nonrefundable deposit, which is deducted from the total purchase price.

03At 8 weeksThoughtful puppy selections begin.

Puppies remain on hold for selection until eight weeks while we evaluate temperament, structure, and best fit. We then offer puppies to approved families based on previously discussed wants and needs, application timing, and overall fit.

04At 10 weeksYour puppy is ready for homecoming.

Matched puppies are ready to leave for their new homes at ten weeks with their veterinary care, paperwork, portraits, and go-home essentials.

For families ready to wait

A place in line for the right match.

Bayview does not maintain an unpaid waitlist. Approved families who are confident they want a future Bayview puppy and are willing to wait for the perfect match or are flexible with preferences may place a $250 nonrefundable deposit for a place in line. Deposits are deducted from the total purchase price. This does not reserve a particular litter or puppy. We will reach out to this list first, in order of submission, when we have a puppy available or coming available.

Before placing a deposit

Availability can never be guaranteed.

Bayview is a small preservation breeder producing limited litters. A litter may include only one puppy, and the right match may take a year or longer—or less. We never guarantee timing, litter size, sex, color, coat, or a specific puppy.

Our dogs’ wellbeing and preservation of the breed come first. Breeding decisions will never be made solely to satisfy a timeline or preference. Deposits should be placed with patience and the understanding that each litter is ultimately in God’s hands.

Frequently asked questions

Questions before you apply.

How much are your puppies?

Our puppies range between $2,500–$3,000 for pets with limited registration. We do not charge based on color or gender because we work with families to determine the best fit; however, certain pairings may reflect the variation in price. Price reflects the quality, health care, nutrition, time, training, socialization, and planning invested in each litter.

Deposit and Payment Policies

All deposits made to Bayview Miniature Dachshunds are nonrefundable. Deposits are credited toward and deducted from the puppy’s total purchase price—they are not additional fees.

Deposits and other payments may be transferred to another puppy or future litter only at Bayview Miniature Dachshunds’ sole discretion.

We accept cash, check, Apple Pay, Zelle, Cash App, and Venmo. Payments made through Apple Pay, Zelle, Cash App, or Venmo are subject to an additional 3% processing fee.

All payments must be received and fully cleared before ownership of the puppy is transferred. Buyers are responsible for ensuring cash or check payments reach us. Payments that are lost or delayed in the mail are not considered received.

Size, Color, and Appearance Guarantee

While we can provide information about a puppy’s parents, pedigree, and development to help families make an informed decision, we cannot guarantee a puppy’s final adult size, weight, color, coat, structure, or overall appearance.

Miniature Dachshunds were historically bred down in size from Standard Dachshunds, and genetics do not always produce predictable results. Much like we cannot predict exactly how tall our children will be as adults, we cannot guarantee the mature size of an individual puppy. We are happy to provide the parents’ adult sizes as a reference; however, smaller dogs can produce larger puppies, and larger dogs can produce smaller puppies.

The same principle applies to color, coat, structure, and overall appearance. Puppies change dramatically as they mature and often go through awkward growth stages as different parts of their bodies develop at different rates. A puppy’s appearance at 8 or 10 weeks old may be very different from how that dog looks at 6 months, one year, or full maturity.

Color and markings can also change significantly. For example, shaded cream Dachshunds may be born extremely dark—sometimes appearing nearly black—and gradually lighten as they mature, eventually developing the cream coloring associated with the variety.

We encourage families to research the colors, coats, and patterns they are considering and review puppy-to-adult progression photos to understand how dramatically Dachshunds can change. We are always happy to answer questions and provide guidance about what you may reasonably expect from a particular puppy, but no breeder can guarantee exactly how a puppy will look as an adult.

What happens if I can no longer keep my dog?

We understand that life circumstances can change. If you are ever unable or unwilling to continue caring for your Bayview dog, please contact us immediately. Every family is contractually required to follow these terms when bringing home a Bayview puppy, helping ensure that each dog we produce remains safe and appropriately cared for throughout its lifetime.

A Bayview dog may never be surrendered to a shelter, rescue, humane society, dog pound, or similar organization. All Bayview puppies are microchipped and registered with both Bayview, as the breeder, and the puppy’s new owner. If one of our dogs is ever found and the microchip is scanned by a shelter, veterinary facility, or similar organization, Bayview can be contacted and will take the necessary steps to bring the dog back into our care.

If you can no longer provide a suitable home, your dog may always be returned to Bayview Pet Services LLC—no questions asked. Any expenses associated with returning the dog may be the owner’s responsibility; however, the dog’s immediate health and safety will always come first.

If you would prefer to personally rehome your dog, you must contact us before selling, giving away, transferring, or otherwise placing the dog with another person. We want to be involved in the process and help ensure the proposed new home is safe and appropriate. A Bayview dog may never be purchased, transferred, or rehomed for the purpose of resale.

Above all, we would always rather have one of our dogs returned to us than see that dog remain somewhere they are unwanted, unsafe, or unable to receive the care they deserve. Please never hesitate to contact us if your circumstances change.

Do you offer breeding rights?

We offer breeding rights only to very select programs. Full rights start at $3,500.
